Welcome to William Tell Elementary's 2008-2009 Technology Night

Fifteen 3rd-5th grade students at William Tell Elementary have been working after school to learn and experiment with different forms of technology. A different student each day logged in to this blog to keep a diary of what he/she learned or worked on while in the Media Club. My Family Tree

For the last couple days i have been working on my family tree. In case you did not know what a family tree was it is something that tells all about your family, when and where they were born, when they have got married, and where at. So i had to type in all of my family's information in to Inspriation.

Sadly today was the last Media Club. We finished our slides and got a newsletter about the bad news. On the up side we get to have a pizza party! Bye!

What Happend Iin Media Club

Today in Media Club, we are finishing our Microsoft Office projects. Most of us are working on Powerpoint but, I am working on Microsoft Office Exel. My project is "How I Spent My Day". Other projects are "I Can Read", Indian Tribes, The Moon, My American Idol, My Family Tree, and a WHOLE lot more.

Media Club

Media Club is awesome because you can do all kinds of activities on the computer like make a paper about your family history and make a PowerPoint Presentation all about, you guessed it, you! Its as fun as playing Scrabble when you're bored. If your not in media club already, I really encourage you to join it next year.

All About Me Zachary Hammack

Here in media club we're doing projects about us. One of my favorite football teams is the Colts because I like Indianapolis. It is a beautiful city. My favorite basketball team is Indiana because I was born in Tell City, Indiana. My favorite baseball team is the Cardinals because my family has went there since they were kids. Finally my favorite College Football team is Noter Dame because my family has liked them since they were kids.

Super Bunch of Students

I was very leary when asked if I wanted to take over Media Club this year for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. I had just had my 1st child right before the beginning of the school year, so I knew I wanted to spend as much time with her after school as possible. BUT...at the same time, Technology is my passion, and I'm so glad I decided to take part in the Media Club. I couldn't have chosen a better group of hard workers. I have given each student a choice of projects, and they have went over and above what I expected of them. I'm very proud of this group, and I hope they have enjoyed their time in Media Club. I'm looking forward to letting them show off their projects at next week's Science and Technology Fair. Hope to see you there!

Our New Projects

Hi! My name is Kyra. In media club we chose new projects since we are all finished with our "All About Me" PowerPoints. People are doing such things as poems, moon observations, biographies, family trees, and much more. We get to decorate our slides however we want to. Our teacher, Mrs.Napier, is very nice to us. She taught me and others a lot about computers and what they do.

Back Up and Running

I need to apologize for those of you who are taking the time to check out your child's blog for Media Club. After having it up and running just fine, our computer system caught it as a site that shouldn't be viewed, so it blocked it. Working In Media Club

Today in Media Club we worked on our project, "All About Me". We learned how to add translations and effects. Our projects will be shown at the Technology Fair. Our first meeting we brought in bags with our favorite items in them. We all had six total items. Everyone has a special feature about them that they will be writing about.
